Terms of Service

These terms explain how booking, riding, and using our website work, in plain language. Please read them, and call us if anything is unclear.

By booking a ride, riding with us, or using this website, you agree to the terms on this page.

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Reese Transport LLC, a family owned non emergency medical transportation company based in Shelbyville, Tennessee. They apply when you request a quote, book a trip, ride with us, or use reesetransport.net.

A few words we use throughout:

  • A rider is the person being transported.
  • You may be the rider, a family member, a caregiver, or a facility or broker arranging the trip.
  • A will call return is a return trip we make after the appointment ends and the facility calls to say the rider is ready.
  • Ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher describe the level of service a rider needs.

If you are booking for someone else, you confirm that you are allowed to share their information and arrange transportation for them. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not book a trip or use the site.

We provide door to door, non emergency rides to medical appointments across Middle Tennessee.

Reese Transport carries riders to and from appointments such as dialysis, wound care, follow up visits, and hospital discharges. Our service is door to door, which means our driver helps you from your front door to the vehicle and to the door of the clinic, not just to the curb.

We serve a radius of about 75 miles around Shelbyville. Trips beyond 25 miles from Shelbyville are quoted individually, so please contact us for details, and longer distances are available by appointment.

Our office hours are 8:00 to 5:00, Monday through Saturday, and we are on the road whenever trips are scheduled. We are open on all major holidays. Please book in advance whenever you can.

We are a transportation company. We are not a medical provider, a hospital, or a home care agency, and riding with us is not medical treatment.

This is not an emergency service.

If you are having a medical emergency, call 911. Do not wait for a scheduled ride.

We transport riders who are medically stable. We are not an ambulance service.

Our vehicles are not ambulances, and our drivers are not paramedics, nurses, or medical personnel. We do not provide medical care, monitoring, oxygen administration, or any clinical service during a trip.

Riders must be medically stable and able to travel safely by car or van with the level of assistance we offer. If a rider needs medical care or monitoring during transport, non emergency transportation is not the right service. Any time you are unsure whether a situation is an emergency, call 911.

Match the trip to the rider's needs so everyone travels safely.

  • Ambulatory riders can walk to and from the vehicle with a little help from our driver.
  • Foldable wheelchair riders can transfer to a seat while we stow the folded chair for the trip.
  • Wheelchair accessible vehicle service is for riders who stay in their chair and roll aboard our ramp equipped vehicle, secured for the trip.
  • Stretcher service, for riders who must travel lying down, is planned as we grow and is not available yet.

Tell us the rider's mobility needs when you book so we can send the right vehicle and driver. If you are not sure which level of service fits, call us and we will help you figure it out.

For the safety of the rider and our driver, we may decline or reschedule a trip if the rider's needs do not match the level of service we can provide that day.

Our drivers help beyond the curb, within safe limits.

Our drivers are trained to help riders in and out of the vehicle, steady them on the walk between the door and the vehicle, confirm the appointment with the facility, and wait when a will call return is part of the plan.

Our drivers do not lift riders beyond safe limits, provide hands on medical or personal care, or perform transfers that are not safe for one person. If a rider needs more help than one driver can safely give, an escort or caregiver must travel with the rider.

Please make sure the path from the door to the vehicle is safe and clear, especially in ice, snow, or rain. Let us know in advance about steps, steep driveways, or anything else that affects a safe pickup.

Book by phone or online, and we confirm every detail before the trip.

You can request a trip by calling us or by filling out a quote request on this website. When you book, please give us accurate details: the pickup address, the appointment address and time, the rider's mobility needs, and, for broker trips, the name of your broker.

We confirm the appointment time with you and with the facility, then build the trip around it. We schedule a pickup window rather than a single exact minute, so please be ready at the start of your window.

We set up standing rides, such as dialysis three days a week, once, so you do not have to call for every trip. Same day trips depend on whether a vehicle is free. Call us, and if we can come, we will.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us. Wrong addresses, times, or mobility details can cause a missed or delayed trip.

For a will call return, we come back when the clinic says the rider is ready.

Many appointments do not end at a set time. For these, we schedule a will call return: we drop the rider off, and we come back after the facility or the rider calls us to say the appointment is finished.

Return pickups are handled as vehicles become available, so a return time is an estimate, not a guarantee. We work to keep the wait as short as we can.

For short appointments, we can sometimes wait on site instead of leaving. Tell us which arrangement you need when you book, and please have the facility call promptly when the rider is ready.

Life happens. Call as early as you can if a trip changes.

To cancel or change a trip, call us as far in advance as possible. Early notice lets us give the time slot to another rider and keep the schedule running for everyone.

A no show happens when the rider is not present or not ready within the driver's wait time at the pickup window, or when we are not told about a cancellation before the driver is on the way.

For private pay trips, late cancellations and no shows may be charged a fee, which we will explain when you book. For trips arranged through a Medicaid broker, cancellations and no shows may be reported to your broker under their rules.

Our driver will wait a reasonable time at pickup. If the rider is not ready and we have not heard from you, the driver may need to leave for the next scheduled rider.

We work with Medicaid brokers and we accept private pay.

Medicaid broker trips. If your ride is covered through a Medicaid broker, tell us which broker you use. Trip authorization and eligibility are handled through your broker under their rules. You are responsible for giving us correct broker information. If a trip is not authorized, or you are not eligible on the day of the trip, the trip may become your responsibility as private pay.

Private pay trips. For private pay, we quote your trip before you ride. Our rates are based on distance and the details of the trip, and we work to keep them below the national average. Extra stops, longer distances, and wait time may affect the price, and we will tell you about any added charges in advance whenever we can.

Payment is due as we agree when you book. If you have any question about what a trip will cost, ask us before the trip and we will walk you through it.

A safe trip is a shared effort.

  • Be ready at the start of your pickup window, and give us accurate booking information.
  • Wear a seatbelt and follow the driver's reasonable safety instructions.
  • Bring any equipment you need, such as a folded wheelchair, cane, or walker, and tell us in advance about oxygen or other needs. If you do not have a wheelchair, you can ask to borrow one of ours for your appointment for an optional $25 fee.
  • Arrange an escort or caregiver for any rider who needs more than the minimal assistance our driver provides, and for riders who cannot be left alone.
  • Treat our drivers and staff with respect. For everyone's safety, there is no smoking, no weapons, and no threatening or unsafe behavior in our vehicles.

We may end or refuse a trip if a rider's behavior is unsafe for the driver or others.

We do everything we can to be on time, but we cannot control the road.

We work hard to provide reliable, punctual, door to door service. Even so, arrival and return times are good faith estimates. Traffic, weather, road conditions, and other events outside our control can affect a trip, and we are not responsible for delays or missed appointments caused by those events.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Reese Transport is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim connected to a trip is limited to the amount you paid for that trip.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Tennessee law, including liability for personal injury caused by our negligence. Some limitations may not apply to you depending on the law where you live.

These terms are governed by Tennessee law.

These terms, and any dispute connected to them or to a trip, are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any legal action will take place in the state or federal courts serving Bedford County, Tennessee.

If you ever have a concern, please call us first at (931) 639 8394. Most issues are cleared up quickly with a phone call, and we would rather hear from you and make it right.

We may update these terms, and we will show the date at the top.

We may update these terms from time to time as our service grows, for example when stretcher service becomes available. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If you keep booking trips or using the site after we update the terms, that means you accept the current version. We encourage you to review this page now and then.

Questions about these terms? We are glad to talk.
